WHAT TO EXPECT

Regardless of the service you select, your initial appointment is always in-office or via video chat. Here, we’ll discuss your reasons for seeking therapy, your goals, and establish a foundation for our work together. It’s an opportunity for you to share your story, and for us to explore how I can best support you in ways that will lead to meaningful, lasting results.

 

If we decide together to make walk and talks or concierge therapy part of our work, we’ll review issues of confidentiality and privacy inherent to being outside or in your home. We’ll include identifying topics you don’t want to discuss in those settings and how we’ll manage run-ins with people you know while working together. For subsequent sessions, the method of delivery is totally up to you (and the weather).

 

The duration of therapy will depend on a variety of factors. As with many things, regular attention and participation greatly improves the impact of the activity. Think about trying to meet a physical goal - health status, physical fitness - but only going to the gym once every few weeks. The results you achieve will be clearly impacted by the frequency with which you get to the gym. Making a lifestyle or emotional change takes time and sustained attention. We recognize the personal and financial commitment associated with choosing to initiate a course of therapy. We encourage you to respect your commitment to your work as we do and make time in your week for your appointment.
